Adrenaline Adventures in Sydney

There are towering water rides at Raging Waters Sydney, a water park with plenty of fun activities for the whole family. Blast into the air with a water jetpack at Jetpack Adventures, in the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith or fly the F-18 fighter jet in a flight simulator in Alexandria.

How about diving with three-metre sharks at the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium? You don’t need any scuba diving experience to meet a shiver of fearsome-looking grey nurse sharks, as well as huge stingrays and other creatures of the deep. The kids will love the king penguins from Antarctica.

Want to stay out of the water? Try one of the indoor climbing experiences dotted around the city, such as The Ledge at Sydney University. Or take a harbour ferry from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo for Wild Ropes, a lofty adventure course.

Take a tandem sailplane flight with Southern Cross Gliding or Sydney Motor Glider Flight in Camden and enjoy the thrill of thermal soaring. A motor glider can take off and climb before switching off the engine and then gliding and landing like a conventional plane.

Test your nerves in a raft with friends or kayak solo, riding the rapids at the Penrith Whitewater Stadium, a 2000 Sydney Olympics venue. Then go to iFly Downunder and skydive indoors in one of the largest vertical wind tunnels in the world. Kids as young as three can defy gravity in the wind tunnel.

Try out the faster rollercoaster zip line in the world at Treetop Adventure Park, where you’ll also find over 100 challenges suspended above the forest floor. At Sydney Olympic Park you can try the flying trapeze, tight wire and learn to juggle with Circus Arts Sydney.
