Japanese comfort food in the Inner West brought to you by the same team behind Kirribilli’s Cool Mac café. In fact, the word ‘kurumac’ means ‘cool mac’ in Japanese. The menu is East-West fusion, with dishes like cod roe cheese toastie, Japanese white toast with seaweed butter and dashi scrambled eggs, plus Japanese staples like sushi, sashimi, congee, tempura and curries.
Listen to jazz and hip hop from the speakers and admire the cool wall mural from local art collective Ar-Chive. There’s also excellent coffee from Campos, pastries from The Bread and Butter Project, and gelato from MaPo.
