If you are looking for seafood and water view reminiscent of a Mediterranean summer, then Il Pontile, the latest offering on Woolloomooloo’s Cowper Wharf, should be next on your Sydney wining and dining wish list.

The Italian newcomer is the work of fourth-generation restauranteur and Naples native Mario Percuoco – the son of Armando Percuoco of Buon Ricardo – making it the perfect perch for those missing (or daydreaming about) the Amalfi Coast.

Grab an outdoor table, start with a plate of fresh oysters, before moving onto smoked mozzarella coated in breadcrumbs, cherry tomatoes and 24-mont-ahed prosciutto, or baby octopus in grape sauce with black olives and capers. Follow with a selection of handmade pastas, fish of the day or a platter of chargrilled seafood.
